This is my dream wedding, whats yours?

Lets talk about my dream wedding.

Its definitely safe to say that I won’t be getting married any time soon as I’ve only been with my fella for four months so far, however with my brothers and aunties wedding coming up it’s all talk about weddings in our house.

Mother dearest darling, and I, spend a lot of our time watching “Say Yes to the Dress”, its definitely our guilty pleasure. Through watching this, its seriously helped me think clearer about what type of dress I would like. I would prefer something either off the shoulder or strapless which is fitted to the waist and then goes out into an A-line skirt. Princess may be a little puffy for me, but I would definitely try one on – you never know!

I’ve got pretty short hair, and I don’t plan to grow it MUCH longer any time soon.. so I’m assuming I would still have pretty short hair by the time I get married! I hate my hair up so it would either have to be down or half up/half down. I love the loose boho look of the second picture with the braids!

I’d also go for quite glamorous make up. Its not every day you get married, I want to feel like a princess. Easy as.

The second thing which most people think about is where the hell are they going to get married? I love the idea of getting married in something like a little hall, similar to a barn but a little more done up. I’d probably have the wedding ceremony, awkward speeches, eating and dance area in the same venue, which means not having to travel from one place to another meaning everyone can get merry [I don’t want a people being sick at my wedding, I’m not dealing with that]

My brother and his fiancé are basically doing what I would do with food. I don’t want to spend the money on a three course meal, and I’d assume most people at the wedding don’t particularly want that either. So picnic food in the summer in a middle of a barn it is then! Or maybe have a few of the lads outside with some throw away barbecues ha!

Is it bad that me and Bradley have spoken quite a bit about what our wedding is going to be like? He wanted a band, but I put my foot down. A band sounds like a nice idea, but I would prefer to be able to DANCE at my own wedding so it’s a DJ. I’m just into that crappy chart music, soz guys!

The one thing I have agreed on letting him do (so far) is choosing the first dance song, and its honestly such a lovely cover of the song. It’s a cover of Elvis Presleys “Can’t help falling in love” by Twenty One Pilots – honestly it doesn’t sound anything like their chart songs. Give it a listen. The fact Bradley chose this song, and listening to the lyrics makes me all sorts of emotional.

Have you thought about your wedding day yet? I’ve never really thought about it until my brother got engaged, however the idea of planning a wedding is making me all giddy. Maybe I’ll become a wedding planner after I finish university!

Both of the dresses look beautiful, don’t they? Aw bless you hun, do you want to get married? You might have to nudge him in the right direction!

I love those braids! I have a vague idea of what my dress would be like but I’d want to try on every style just to make sure! I’d actually probably have the same song at my wedding but the elvis version!

It’s such a pretty hairstyle, isn’t it? I don’t really think really long hair suits me, so I’d probably grow a tiny bit longer than my hair is now! Oh my god, me too – I plan to try on every single style of dress, and then I’ll probably come back to buying the first dress I try on ha!

It’s such a pretty song, eeeek love it!

This is such a cute post! How lovely to document all your ideas now, I bet you’ll head back to this post for some inspiration from past-you when your fella does pop the question hehe! I too have quite short hair and probably wouldn’t grow it out for a wedding, but I love the loose wave and braid style you describe, I bet you’d look stunning! Thanks for sharing your ideas!

I just came across this idea while browsing some blogs, and I was like this would totally suit me and my blog. I’m a soppy love kinda person (ha!). It’ll be a long while until he does that, but at least I know some of the details that I would like.

Yeah I’d probably let it grow a little longer than it is right now, as its a little shorter than I like it anyway.. but I don’t really think long hair styles suit me! You’re welcome hun, glad you liked it!

Yay! I don’t really want a hotel wedding, and I just wouldn’t feel comfortable getting married in a church (although they’re so pretty) because I’m not religious. But I’d love a done up barn, with a few picnic tables and stuff!

Its such a cute song, isn’t it?!

    I love this post!
I got married in 2012, I still remember the whole experience. The planning part was so amazing and something out of this world. I would have a different dress if it was now though. I had a ball gown covered in sparkles and lace but I would have something more fitting and my hair up if it was now.

Aw, I just love the idea of a wedding! I really want to be involved quite strongly in someone else’s wedding so I can watch the whole experience.

I love the idea of a homemade wedding more than anything! I want to do it all myself. I bet you looked gorgeous though babe!

Haha I love how you have it all planned out, I have been engaged forever (it feels) but we just don’t know what to do. We just want to be married lol. Although I would like those shoes… just in general not to get married in haha xxxxxx

Aha, I’ve honestly never really thought about it until after my brother asked his girlfriend to marry him! But now that I’m slightly involved in the wedding, I just know what I do and don’t want! You don’t have to do anything fancy for your wedding though, it can be a quiet intimate thing!

The shoes are to die for!

Such a lovely blogpost, I love say yes to the dress and don’t tell the bride! Since I was little I’ve always known the sort of wedding I want! Just got to wait at least another 8 years 😂

Aha, I don’t particularly like watching don’t tell the bride, because some of the men are so dumb on there, and some of the girlfriends are snobby cows (like, if you know you’re not gonna like your fiance’s decision why go on the freaking show?!). BUT say yes to dress, I looooooove!

I’d love to hear what sort of wedding you want – why 8 years chick?!

  7. January 13, 2017 / 8:07 pm

Ah weddings are so excited. I worked as a wedding planner for nearly 10 years and loved it!!! The boho look is timeless ❤

Say Yes to the Dress is such an addicting show! I don’t know why but sometimes I just like seeing all the different dresses. I’m constantly amazed by the women who fall in love with dresses that look absolutely terrible to me. This was such a fun post to read. I’m not getting married anytime soon either but lots of cousins and friends are getting married so it’s become the common topic. The idea of a picnic in the barn sounds brilliant! It blows my mind how much money people spend on a wedding at times. Anyways, great post! (:
